OSRS update sets taxes on gold and other items from Annrscsdws's blog

After the discussions and OSRS gold posted to the community, the Old School RuneScape team updated the game through the introduction of the Grand Exchange Tax and other economic options. The update also brings changes to the sinks for items and PvP.

When the decision-making procedure, the Grand Exchange tax came into effect, with a 1 percent tax rate that is imposed on the profit of the seller following auctioning the merchandise. The tax is applicable per item, and does not apply to sales below 100 GP, and sellers can determine what his final income will be when he puts the item on sale. Then you can also avoid paying tax on the sale of items for more than GP 499,999,999. Added to this is an extra tax rate of five million GP. Another limitation on load covers the majority of the tools used by new players. Items like scissors, saws, hammers and chisels and watering cans will not be taxed to ensure the freedom of rotation for these tools.

At 20, Old School RuneScape's economy may be supporting these high-priced deals and inflation issues however, this change could be a useful gold mine that will benefit the overall economy. It also allows for an option to change the transaction between players, with an inability to click Accept. It gives you a few seconds to check the contract before accepting it, in the hopes of avoiding further fraud.

To handle taxes, there is an absorption system for each item that is focused on inflation. It involves placing taxes into an electronic vault. The team will utilize that gold to just buy some items in the marketplace and take them out. Removing some items from the marketplace could aid, but the team prefers to start with a small amount of things. Additional items may qualify once they understand how the system works.

New PvP modifications are also being implemented to make sure players are not fooled into buying skulls during PvP, where there is a PK skull prevention checkbox can be checked. They have also added buy RS gold more secure areas.
